Middle-Aged Dating ROCKS!

The best part is that there is no right way to do it. Once you decide to pivot and take action, the possibilities are endless.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]We get a do-over, how great is that?

In middle-age, we get to weave together all the wisdom and experiences, lessons and heartaches, good habits, self-awareness and moxie to create a new normal for ourselves. We can delete all the shit from the past and create new boundaries and expectations. We can adopt new values and live differently in this next chapter of life.

The best part is that there is no right way to do it. Once you decide to pivot and take action, the possibilities are endless.

I found my secret sauce by trying new things; yep-good old trial and error. I have learned what I like, what inspires me, what kinds of people, activities and environments bring out the best in me. Conversely, I have become crystal clear on what I will no longer tolerate, accept, or expose myself to.

I still get it wrong sometimes because old habits are hard to break, but I have gotten better at recognizing when I am not aligned with my true self. That voice (my gut/heart/soul/inner warrior/little girl/) speaks loudly and clearly to me now. My old pattern of seeking control blocked my power to create. Now, the only person I want to have authority and control over is myself.

What does your do-over look like? Ask yourselves the following questions to figure out what you value, expect and desire going forward. The constructs of the past do not have to define your future.

  1. What rules are you living by?

  2. Whose rules are these? Which rules support the life you want? Which rules don’t work for you anymore?

  3. What are some new rules that you can live by from this point forward?

Write down the things that excite, inspire, and that you want to be remembered for. Create new rules around these ideas.

Write down five or more attributes you value.

Do your current actions match these values? If not, create a new action plan.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Tired of dealing with unintended outcomes?
